  • Solder

    Solder used for plumbing shall comply with the requirements of C.A.S. No H3, Soft solders

  • Asphaltic Compound

    Asphaltic compound used for joints shall not- a) be brittle at normal temperature; nor b) soften sufficiently to destroy the effectiveness of the joint when subjected to a temperature of 70°C; nor c) be soluble in any of the wastes carried by the sewerage system.

  • Jointing

    Jointing of sewers and fittings shall be made- a) with materials approved for use with the particular material of which the sewers and fittings are made; and b) in such a manner as- (i) to prevent leakage from the joint; and (ii) where necessary, to allow some moment of the joint.
